Ju-jitsu, also known as jujutsu or jiu-jitsu (柔術, jujutsu, literally translating to "Flexibility Art"), is a martial art that encompasses a range of combat techniques developed during Japan's feudal period, primarily for the self-defense of samurai in situations where they were disarmed.
